Frequently asked questions
Does a molar extraction hurt?
The extraction is done under local anaesthesia, so you should not feel pain during the procedure. Once the anaesthesia wears off, any discomfort can be managed with the medication recommended by the doctor.
Do all wisdom teeth need to be removed?
No. Extraction is recommended when a wisdom tooth causes pain, infections or lack of space, or affects the neighbouring teeth. The doctor decides after an examination and an X-ray.
How long does healing take after an extraction?
The gum usually heals within a few weeks, while the bone takes longer. Following the doctor's advice helps you heal without complications.
The information on this page is general and does not replace a consultation. The treatment plan is decided by the doctor after an examination.
